The artist with his Morning Light series of prints
Michael Piotrowski
Solo Print Exhibition
July 4–26, 2026
Opening Reception:
Sunday, July 5th, 2–4 PM
Michael Piotrowski is a Iife-long artist working in many media, considering himself a painter/printmaker, influenced by his history in plein air painting resulting in landscapes occurring in many of his pieces.
Printmakers traditionally make two primary types of prints, either monotypes (one-of-a-kind images) or editions (a limited number of exact duplicate images). He has combined these two methods, printing a primary woodblock image over an individual, sometimes similar, color monotype, resulting in a varied edition (same primary image with a variety of color backgrounds).
Continuing to observe light and shadow and its influence on his occasional non-traditional composition choices, his current work ranges from 2 x 2 mini prints to 4-foot square steamroller prints, where 25 invited artists each hand carve a 40”x 48” woodblock to be printed under a 10-ton steamroller in a parking lot. This solo exhibition features varied editions and steamroller prints, frequently exploring different times of day in a single key image.
Hours: Saturdays + Sundays, 12 – 4 PM or by appointment.
